Opening Coin Toss

Greetings everyone,

I have for some time been toying around with the idea of branching off another blog from my primary at blog.wnylibrarian.com in order to focus on a more sports centric theme. So, here we are.

There is no secret that I am an avid sports fan. I watch probably way too much of it. Hockey definitely ranks my number one interest in terms of viewing, but I also enjoy football (college, NFL, and including some of that 3-down action north of the border), baseball, and golf. The latter of which I play to a skill that I can never quit my day job. Some people are news junkies; I can say I’m a sports junkie. Sports allows me that exhale to forget the stresses that each day holds. That mental break we all need from bills, politics, domestic, family, job stress, and anything else that we feel burden upon. Sports is that outlet for me. To start this blog is an inevitable progression of that exhale.

I’ve watched, read, and listened to my share of sports commentators with their endless opinions and dissertations. I felt, quite simply, I can be just as wrong as the rest of them. At the end of the day it is just an opinion. Mine can’t be any more wrong than the next person’s, and who knows, I might even be right on occasion too?

One thing I’m certain of is that you’ll disagree with me at some point, or think my take is crazy on a particular topic, and believe me I’m fine with that. As I said, it is an opinion. Right or wrong doesn’t matter as much as the discussion does when it comes to a lot of sports topics. I always welcome comments, good, bad, or indifferent.

Thank you for finding my blog. Let’s see how this goes.
